Desktop or web? With TVT, you don’t have to choose
For years, if you asked us “does TVT run in the browser?” the honest answer was no. That wasn’t an oversight. It was a decision.
Our core customers, pharma and medical device teams work under strict security and validation requirements. For them, a controlled, on-premise environment wasn’t a nice-to-have. It was the requirement. So that’s where we put our focus: building the most accurate, most defensible content verification tool for teams who couldn’t afford to get it wrong, running in the environment their IT and QA teams already trusted.
Along the way, a handful of customers needed remote access before a true browser version existed, and we supported that through a Citrix connection. It worked, but it was a bridge, not the destination. As more teams (especially in FMCG, where marketing and artwork teams are distributed across markets and moving fast) started asking for browser-based access, we built one.
Today, TVT runs on Desktop, in the browser, or both. That’s the sequence: build for the teams who needed the most control first, then bring the same standard to the browser once the market was ready for it.
Three ways to run TVT, one validated core
TVT Desktop remains fully supported and is still the right fit for teams with established validated workflows and advanced checks like FHIR XML verification. If your process depends on tight environment control, Desktop isn’t going anywhere.
TVT Web gives teams browser-based access — no local install, easier to roll out across markets and offices, built for teams who need to move fast without sacrificing accuracy.
TVT Hybrid means you don’t have to pick one for the whole organization. Your validation-heavy teams can stay on Desktop while remote or distributed colleagues work in the browser.
All three run on the same validated core. So however your team is set up, you’re getting the same comparison engine, the same audit trail behavior, and the same standard of accuracy TVT has always been built on. That’s the pattern we see again and again: teams start where their needs are, and TVT grows with them, not the other way around.

Plenty of vendors will tell you web-based means better. We’d rather tell you the truth: the right deployment depends on what your team is protecting against.
- Need airtight environment control and advanced validation checks? Desktop is built for that.
- Need to roll out across distributed teams or multiple markets fast? Web gets you there without an install queue.
- Need both — some teams on Desktop, others on Web? Run them side by side. Same core, same standard, no compromise either way.
That flexibility is the differentiator. Most competitors make you pick a lane. TVT lets you build the setup that actually matches how your teams work.
Support doesn’t change based on how you deploy
Whichever version your team runs, you get the same customer success team behind you — the one with a 95% satisfaction rating, not a smaller team for “the new option.”
Both Desktop and Web receive regular upgrades. Web updates roll out automatically. Desktop upgrades are handled deliberately, not automatically — because we know your validation requirements mean changes need to go through your process, not ours.
Is browser-based access a replacement for Desktop TVT?
No. It’s an additional option. Desktop remains fully supported for teams with established, validated workflows and advanced checks like FHIR XML verification.
Does Schlafender Hase still deliver TVT over Citrix?
No. TVT Web is a cloud-native, browser-based application, not a Citrix-hosted desktop session. Citrix supported a small number of customers before a true web version existed; it’s no longer how TVT is deployed today.
Can I run Desktop and Web at the same time, across different teams?
Yes. Many organizations run a hybrid setup. Desktop for teams with strict validation needs, Web for teams that need speed and easy rollout. With both you get the same TVT quality and 100% accuracy.
How are upgrades handled for each version?
With TVT Web updates can occur automatically if this is what the customer wants. TVT Desktop upgrades are scheduled by the customer (not automatically), respecting each organization’s validation and change-control requirements.
